Manage Lists > Create New List
1. Click the check box of "Wireless Text Messaging".
2. Give your SMS list a name. None of your subscribers will see the name of this list.

3. Choose what words will define your list. These words are used to describe your list and are internal purposes. Only 1 keyword is required in this section.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the "From Information" section. This is where you specify your SMS keyword. A SMS must be 3-10 characters long. No special characters can be used. Only alpha-numeric character are allowed.
Once you choose a keyword, click on "Check Availability" to see if your keyword is available. If this keyword is not in use, choose "38714" as the short code.
If this is your first SMS keyword, it is free. Otherwise, you have to lease each additional keyword. Click on the link, "click here" to lease the SMS keyword.

5. Choose how long you would like to lease the keyword for. If you are not sure how long you'd like the keyword, choose "Month-to-Month". Or, if you would prefer saving some money, choose a longer contract. (Ex. If I chose a "6 month" contract, I will be paying $18/month for 6 months. After that 6 months is up, I will return to a month-to-month contract at $20/month.)

6. Click on "Continue" to advance to the next step. The next step will confirm your contract length selection. Click on "Continue" again to complete the process. Close the window once you receive a confirmation message.
7. Return to the control panel and click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Note: If you do not click on the 'Save' button your account will be charged and your SMS list WILL NOT be created. ) THIS IS AN IMPORTANT STEP!
Once you return to the "My Lists" page, your SMS list is active and ready to start receiving subscribers. Just tell a subscriber to text the "keyword" to 38714. This will add them to your SMS list.
Here are some things you may not know about an SMS list:
- Once an SMS list is created, the keyword cannot be changed.
- Only one keyword per SMS list.
- If you delete a SMS list, you delete the keyword and all the subscribers attached to that list.
