HOW-TO: Make Sure Your Upload is Properly Formatted

One of the most common features you will use in mobileStorm is adding new subscribers to your database. This is done via the Add Multiple Subscribers tab within the Subscribers section in the Control Panel. However, if you are using a file (such as a .csv) to upload your subscribers, you must make sure that the file is first formatted correct. We have attached an example of a correctly formatted file to the right of this explanation (see Attachments)

This is especially true for when you are trying to upload multiple fields of information, including Custom Fields. Any fields that are on your file must match EXACTLY the fields that you used when creating your subscriber form.

Example: If you are uploading subscribers with Gender information, the fields must be 'Male' or 'Female'. Having the information as 'male' or 'FEMALE' will not work and the data will not be successfully added to their profile information.

Keep in mind that when there is one thing wrong with the subscriber row, the whole entry won't be added. So if there is a good e-mail address in the "E-mail Column", but the zip code is 4 digits, the subscriber won't be added.
