What's the difference between "Inbound" and "Outbound" campaigns?

Campaigns > SMS Messages

Inbound: Leverage your online and offline marketing programs by incorporating text-in options for a variety of mobile messages.

An inbound campaign does not send an initial message to your SMS subscribers. It waits for input from cell phone users. This is the type of campaign that you see at a sporting event or on TV. (Ex. Text Win A, Win B, Win C to 38714 to win prizes!)

Outbound: Reach out to your subscribers and keep them informed by sending an alert, update or offer as well as ask their opinion or more information.

Outbound campaigns send an initial message to your SMS subscriber list. This could be a simple reminder, to a complete Trivia or Poll. You choose from an "Alert", "Poll", "Trivia/Quiz", "Confirmation", "Data Builder" or "RSVP" campaign.
