Wrightwood, CA - August 1, 2002 - Mountain High proudly announces the launch of Highwired, a web-based program that distributes information to guests via email, cell phone, pager or handheld computer such as a Palm Pilot or Cassiopeia. Found at www.mthigh.com, this new service notifies users of road conditions, weather forecasts, special events and more. Users can also customize the time and frequency of their deliveries to ensure that important information such as a Powder Alert finds them when and where they need it. Highwired also provides unique Customer Relationship Management (CRM) functions which allow the resort to capture demographic and psychographic information that can be used for future campaigns.

“Communication with our audience is key,” says John McColly, Director of Marketing. “We develop relationships with our guests and keep them informed of snowfalls, events, ticket deals and more. Highwired is the perfect platform for this because it takes the message out of the email box and distributes it in a manner that is simple, timely and much more convenient for the guest.”

Highwired was developed for Mountain High by mobileStorm, a Los Angeles based new-media company technology company. mobileStorm’s products include Stun?, the underlying technology of Highwired, and PocketHoops?, a scouting program for NBA teams.

Says Jared Reitzin, mobileStorm’s CEO and Co-Founder, “Maintain a solid and pervasive relationship with your customers and you will see significant returns. Not only will Highwired help Mountain High create better relationships but it will create new avenues of revenue from advertising and affinity programs to subscription services. We are excited to launch Highwired but even more excited to be doing it with a resort as forward-thinking as Mountain High.

Two levels of the Highwired service are available. The Standard, or basic service, is free and allows guests to receive information on snow, weather and road conditions, upcoming events and ticket deals. The Premium service costs $20.00 but includes additional benefits such as discounts on lift tickets and services, a free ticket after every five visits, access to preferred contests & promotions, and greater customizability.

In his keynote address at the recent conference in New Orleans, National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) President Michael Berry discussed the importance of communication and retention. “There’s no lack of trial,” he said, “but there’s plenty of room for improvement in converting those who try into long-term skiers and snowboarders.” Mountain High’s Highwired program will keep visitors coming back through a constant stream of information and enticement. It brings guests closer to the mountain and closer to the sport by making skiing and snowboarding part of their daily lives, even if they are not at the resort.

4. PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCMENT: During the WMC, mobileStorm Inc. plans to announce a partnership with WS7 Media, a leading provider of ticketing solutions for events, clubs, and promotions. WS7 Media will announce it will resell mobileStorm’s marketing and communcation software Stun!™ to its client base through the popular wantickets.com website. Barak Schurr had this to say about the partnership. “Email and Wireless messaging are the new flyers. It costs less, has a greater response rate, and reports on the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of a campaign can be generated on the fly. You never know what you are going to get when handing out a flyer. Most of them end up in the trash or worst case on the ground. Promoters have an excellent opportunity to take advantage of these technologies and our partnership with mobileStorm will ensure this.

“We are happy about our participation in this years WMC”, said Jonathan Schreiber, mobileStorm’s chairman. “We have been preaching about email and wireless communcation as a major form of marketing for the past 5 years. Wireless is still a ways behind email, however both protocols need to be embraced; the response rates for these new mediums, dwarf those of traditional direct marketing. We just want to get the word out and create awareness. WMC is a great place to network and meet new people, it is going to be a blast.”
