Great article as usual. In the absence of shortcodes from my local telecom monopoly, I implemented SMS campaigns using a GSM modem and 10 digit phone numbers to some success. The telecom recently started testing their shortcodes and I am seriously considering signing up with them to get one (there is no CSCA or local independent aggregators). My question is this, what (from a technical view) am I to expect when interconnecting with my local telecom? Is it as simple as using a GSM modem? The software I use already has SMPP connectivity
